Two bronze fulcra from Tarraco

A rescue archaeological excavation undertaken during the years 2016 and 2018 in López Peláez Street in the city of Tarragona unearthed the remains of a great suburban building from the Early Empire period intended for storage uses. Among the retrieved archaeological objects stand out two bronze mule protomes corresponding to the upper part of the fulcra that decorated the curved headrest of a Roman couch.
