The personification of Alexandria can occasionally be represented as the Roman Province of Africa. Because of this. both images have been frecuentely confused, as in the cases here presented. The author of this paper tries 10 analyse the origin and reason of this iconographical identity and also proposes that the distinguishing factor is directly related with the ethnic origin ofthe images receiver.
