Roman surgical and medical instruments from La Cañada Honda (Gandul)

This article presents a catalogue of a significant group of Roman medical/surgical instruments discovered in a necropolis of incineration burials at La Cañada (Gandul, Sevilla) excavated by George E. Bonsor between 1908 and 1910 and now in the collections of the Hispanic Society of America. The variety of types of instruments indicares the existence of an adequate medical profession in the area during the second half of the first century and first half of the second century A.D.
