Abstract


In this paper three monumental commemorativc inscriptions, discovered during excavations al the Roman Theatre in Carthagena (Spain) in 1990, are studied. Two are cut on altars of white marble and the third on a very broad lintel, and all three honour thc figure of Gaius Caesar, possible patron of the city.
