When the Visigots settled in Tarragona the power of the bishops was reinforced although their religious influence was mitigated firstly by Barcelona and later by Toledo. Nevertheless, the church in Tarragona due to its socio-political and economical power, became a very important element in promoting the construction of religious buildings which had a great influence in the layout and topography. In this article we present a set of unpublished items which enable us to give new data to the sculptural Hispanovisigoth period in Tarragona. From another point ofview those items give us the opportunity to think about the topography and layout in the city as well as in the nearby rural area of Tarragona under the Visigoths stablishing a relationship between monastical and hermitical places and the ancient Hispanovisigoth religious centres
