This paper poses a discussion about the economic context of the fish-based products amphorae kiln of «El Olivar de los Valencianos», in Puerto Real (Cádiz), supporting that this kiln worked in an analogous way as the contemporaneous Spanish kilns of wine and oil amphorae, so arguing about the economical model prevailing to explain the abundance of amphorae waste in the bay of Cadiz.
