Evidencias del comercio tartésico junto a puertos y vados de la cuenca del Tajo

Abstract

Various finds from Upper Extremadura throw new light on the northward extension of Tartessian trade and in particular the possible intermarriage of natives with Tartessian women. The first comprises a group of wheel-turned «à chardon» vases from a settlement at Puerto de Santa Cruz found in a grave —one of the very rare burials of this date from the region— containing female bones. The second comprises material from an orientalising site by the ford at Talavera la Vieja and the third a series of similarly orientalising objects from hill-forts in the Tagus basin.
