A recent review of Karen D. Vitelli appeared in American Journal of Archaeology (1995, 775) on John F. Moffitt's Art Forgery. The case of the Lady of Elche, is the reason that make us to write this paper. It is discussed here both method and content of a book showing a scientific intention but inaceptable conclusions. The Lady of Elche deserves a better approach from the light of the new Iberian archaeological research.
