The aim of this paper is to stand out, through the handwritten and unpublished material kept in the Archives of the Real Academia de la Historia, the important role that this institution had in the process of structuring and defining the Spanish Inheritance, mainly archaeologic. The analysed documentation, that covers the period 1738-1930, shows that the Academia acted as an integrator element of social, politic, legislative and scientific interests and relations.
