La «Tumba Cazurro» de la necrópolis emporitana de «El Portitxol» y algunos apuntes acerca de la economía de Emporion en el siglo V a. C

Abstract

Greek tomb found in the Emporitan necropolis of «El Portitxol» in 1908 is here analysed. This burial has never been studied before as a whole despite that part of its goods are still partially preserved. The tomb, that I propose to call «Tumba Cazurro» after the scholar who documented it, dates back to about 500 B.C. and is a starting point for considerations about the Emporion economy during the 5^th century, supporting the idea that the commerce of perfumes from Athens and the Punic area via Sicily, played an important role in the interchanges between the Mediterranean world and the Phocaian city.
