This paper aims to establish the criteria that ruled the proportions and order in early mediaeval Asturian architecture ( 8th-10th centuries). It includes the study of the metrological system and the module of proportions used in these buildings. As a result, these principles are used as a basis for establishing the forms and principles of proportion common to all Asturian architecture.
